Yung-Yao Chen received his B.S. (2004) and M.S. (2006) degrees in Electrical and Control Engineering from the National Chiao Tung Universityfrom Hsinchu, Taiwan, and his Ph.D. (2013) degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, USA. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and the Co-Director of Taiwan Tech Smart Electric Vehicle Research Center, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan.His current research interests include vision-based automation, automated/wisdom factory, self-driving car, and human-computer interaction. Dr. Chen was the recipient of the Best Paper Award of theInternational conference on Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems,the Rotary Foundational Scholarship, and the Ta-Yu Wu Memorial Award from Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). Dr. Maryam Vatankhah is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at CUNY, with a research focus in artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. She is currently a professor in the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Xiaochun Cheng is a distinguished researcher and academic currently affiliated with Swansea University, UK. He earned a full scholarship for his entire university education, graduating with a First-Class BEng in Computer Engineering in 1992 and a PhD in Computer Science with distinction in 1996. Dr. Cheng has made significant contributions to his field, including leading a project with a €16 million budget and receiving five Best Conference Paper Awards. Prof. Patrick Siarry was born in France in 1952. He received the PhD degree from the University Paris 6, in 1986 and the Doctorate of Sciences (Habilitation) from the University Paris 11, in 1994. He was first involved in the development of analog and digital models of nuclear power plants at Electricité de France (E.D.F.). Since 1995 he is a professor in automatics and informatics. His main research interests are computer-aided design of electronic circuits, and the applications of new stochastic global optimization heuristics to various engineering fields. He is also interested in the fitting of process models to experimental data, the learning of fuzzy rule bases, and of neural networks.
